Are you looking for the best Wi-Fi routers? There is a wide range of Wi-Fi routers available on the market manufactured by different brands such as Netgear, Linksys, Asus, and TP-Link to name a few. TP-Link is a popular networking company that has manufactured many Wi-Fi routers of different standards.
The TP-Link Archer A7 (Ac1750) is an advanced router in the AC series. It has an impressive range, high-speed, customization options, QoS, and affordable prices. The TP-Link Archer A7 (Ac1750) is a winner when it comes to the price. It uses a dual-band Gigabit network, which is excellent for web surfing, online gaming, and even streaming HD or 4K video content.
It has an incredible design with black casing. Not only it is stylish but also looks modern with 3 high-gain and tall-standing antennas. The Antennas have an excellent range coverage and provide Wi-Fi signals to up 2,500 sqft.
In today’s review article, we are going to talk about the wireless performance, design, hardware, and installation of the router. Read on!

Networking
The Maximum Wi-Fi speed of the TP-Link Archer A7 is 1750 Mbps. It comes from an 802.11ac 1300 Mbps Antenna with an additional 802.11n 450 Mbps antenna. The 1300 Mbps comes from the 5 GHz frequency band and on the 2.4 GHz radio frequency band, the speed is 450 Mbps.
The 5 GHz radio band is suitable for streaming 4K video content, which means your screens would have much line-of-sight with the router. The TP-Link Archer A7 has a reasonable positioning, which is awesome when it comes to providing high-bandwidth connections. This way, you can avoid stream buffering.
If you are living in a home with think concrete walls and you want to transmit signals through different barriers, then you must know that the router won’t solve such issues. So, what you can do? Well, you have to add a mesh router to your network. The TP-Link Archer A7 provides a good range of 2,500 square feet. The design of the antennas focuses on the provision of the bandwidth across the total 2,500 square feet.
Also, the TP-Link Archer A7 HAS 1750 Mbps capacity, which is virtually needed by anyone. However, what provides limits to the performance of the router are certain things like multiple devices that make connections. This is because the function of the router is not as simple as transferring data from one device to another.
Moreover, more and more connection requests on the router must be ordered, managed, and sorted. When the sorting is not done well, the speed of the connection suffers. The TP-Link Archer A7 can connect up to 50 devices. The network performance slouches if you reach out to the upper limits of the figure.
At a close range of 5 feet, the speed of the device measured was 443 Mbps. We further tested the device at 15 feet and 30 feet on the 2.4 GHz frequency band. The speed measured was 231 Mbps and 172 Mbps respectively.
Moreover, we also tested the device at 5, 15, and 30 feet on the 5 GHz frequency band. We measured the speed of 1287 Mbps, 879 Mbps, and 519 Mbps respectively. Overall, the speed of the router on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz was good and satisfied our expectations.
Design
The dimensions of the router are 9.6*6.3*1.3 inches, which is a bit larger than routers designed for home network users. On the front, there are 10 LEDs, which provide the status of the network. The LEDs are also labeled with symbols. The lights are a simple way to diagnose issues with the network.
The TP-Link Archer A7 router has a glossy black exterior. The Qualcomm processor of the router keeps the network traffic from getting congested. However, the discernable features of the router are on the backside.
Also, on the backside of the router, you will see color-coordinated and well-labeled ports. You will see a DC power port and an ON-OFF Switch. There is also a reset switch, which is located on the router backside. Moreover, you will see an Ethernet port, 4 Gigabit output ports, and a USB 2.0 port. The Gigabit ports can achieve 10x speed than regular Ethernet connections. Finally, there is a WPS ON-OFF button.
Hardware
The TP-Link Archer A7 Wi-Fi router is powered by a dual-core processor. The CPU is Qualcomm Atheros QCA9563 chipset. The clock speed of the processor is 750 MHz. The Archer A7 has 128 MB of RAM AND 16 MB of flash storage, which holds the settings and firmware of the device.
It has a dual-band router with a maximum throughput of 450 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and 1.3 Gbps bandwidth on the 5 GHz radio frequency band. So, the total bandwidth is 1.75 Gbps. Overall, it lacks MU-MIMO technology, which means it can’t connect with multiple users at the same time. However, the router does offer parental control and QoS.
Installation
The Installation or setup of the device is pretty simple. Even a beginner user can set up the router easily following a few steps. However, the TP-Link Archer A7 has a plug and play features. It can automatically detect networks.
Having said that, the TP-Link Archer A7 (Ac1750) is an excellent router with respect to the easiness of setting up a network. You can do this in a few minutes. On the other hand, if you want to set advanced settings, then you have to delve deeply into the network control options. You need to go through the Wizard to further configure the router.
